These kicks are bold and bright, featuring lightweight and breathable mesh uppers with a red, orange and yellow colourway gradient symbolising the sunset (obviously). The Nike Airmax 1 EM Sunset Trainers also feature black Nubuck piping, a contrast white midsole and a visible air sole cushioning unit.

Hype Means Nothing!

We’ve all been there as kids when we make hand gestures to imitate sunglasses, but fancy wearing a T-shirt with your favourite celebrity doing that exact gesture? Well the French brand Hype Means Nothing became notorious in 2010 for producing a line of T-shirts and crewneck sweaters with images of the world’s biggest celebrities and icons making sunglasses with their hands.

From Jay-Z to Barack Obama, Brad Pitt to the Beatles, Beyonce to Marilyn Monroe, you are sure to find your hero/icon on a T-shirt or sweater.

The French brand Hype Means Nothing is like no other brand, they let the images speak for themselves and have become hugely popular over time. Celebrities like Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Cassie have been spotted wearing Hype Means Nothing clothing.

Throwback Thursday!

As this year is Richmond Classics 25th Anniversary since opening, we decided to have a Throwback Thursday!

Here at the offices we found an old article from Sportswear International Magazine – European Edition in 1995! We had a whole Double Page Spread dedicated to the Richmond Classics store and our old ‘Sussed Out’ Store. Our Sussed Out Store contained Fashion Sports Labels such as Stussy and No Fear.

Not only were the 90′s crazy for fashion sports brand, but this trend has made a comeback in 2013! We’re loving the idea of wearing sports labels for fashion. Check out our range of trainers online and in store such as Nike and Adidas!

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (A.K.A OFWGKTA)

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (A.K.A OFWGKTA, or Odd Future, and if you’re really lazy, OF) is a group of friends, rappers, skaters and misfits who produce music and clothing. After conquering the music scene they set up a clothing line called ‘Golf Wang’ featuring ‘merch’ in the likes of rainbow biting cat T-shirts, all over doughnut hoodies and portraits of members of OFWGKTA printed on T-shirts.

The click is made up of Tyler (The Creator), Earl Sweatshirt, Left Brain, Frank Ocean and more. The Odd Future family are neither conformist nor conventional; instead they create a storm of controversy wherever they go.

The BBC caught up with Odd Future last year whilst touring in London to see their pop up store and have a chat with a very sarcastic (some may call it rude!) Tyler (The Creator) and his gang. When Tyler (The Creator) was asked by a BBC presenter ‘What are you saying in your lyrics?’ he replied ‘Nothing, shit to piss old white people off like you’.

Perhaps this is why they are insanely popular with the younger generation as Odd Future do things their own way. They’re fresh, creative and incredibly offensive, but we all love a bit of hype!

Their badass nature is what sets them apart from other brands and artists, their clothing symbolises their unconventional and crazy lifestyles…

Grazia Magazine feature Adidas x Opening Ceremony

When picking up our weekly copy of Grazia magazine we were pretty excited to see the Adidas x Opening Ceremony New York Run Trainers featured not only inside the magazine, but on the cover as well!

The Cheetah Red Adidas x Opening Ceremony New York Run Shoes were part of the ‘It’s Trainer Mania!’ Sneaker Special feature. This year’s Spring/Summer look is all about the trainers, kicks and sneakers… no longer are they solely worn for sport, it’s all about the fashion this year!

The Adidas x Opening Ceremony New York Runs were amongst several other brightly coloured shoes in the ‘Double-Take Trainers’ section in Grazia. They sure are double-take trainers with their quirky cheetah print and contrast colour laces.

Dope Couture Clothing – Coming Soon!

It all started in 2007 when a student from Indiana University, Matthew Fields began Dope Couture clothing. Although a young brand, Dope Couture is now one of the most sought after streetwear brands in America and are now even spreading their wings across seas.

Seen on the likes of Jay Z, Wiz Khalifa and Kid-Ink, Dope Couture clothing is high quality and pure street. Their designs are classic with an edge which sets them apart from other brands. Their collection doesn’t stop at T-shirts and hoodies, Dope Couture also have a line of snapbacks, beanies, jewellery and decks.

Their philosophy is ‘No Dope, No Hope’. Dope Couture say ‘We believe that luxury is inherently freedom and, beyond that, only a state of mind. We try to reflect this realization in every piece that we create. Our goal is to bring a luxurious lifestyle to the world, because everyone (not just the upper class) deserves the right to feel on top of the world.’

Dope Couture have collaborated with many brands including Alumni, Freddie Gibbs and Vinny Cha$e to create collections that stay true to Dope Couture designs with an individual twist from each collab brand.

Dope Couture have their own boutique in LA and also sell to selected retailers around the world… including us (obviously).

Adidas Originals X Opening Ceremony

Adidas Originals and Opening Ceremony’s second line of their ongoing collaboration has dropped and is looking sick! Their Spring/Summer 2013 collection boasts a line of footwear designed specially for running and tennis following their previous collection dedicated to swimming and cycling.

Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony’s SS13 line takes inspiration from the 90’s with bright colours and bold prints on the footwear. The footwear is an interpretation of Adidas’ classic running and tennis trainers of the 90’s finished with the designs of Leon and Carol Lim at Opening Ceremony, bright, bold and daring.

It was only last weekend that Adidas and Opening Ceremony celebrated their Spring/Summer 2013 collection by throwing Ping Pong tournament at the Standard, Downtown LA. Hosted by Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the crowd spent their evening with friendly matches of ping pong and jamming to DJ Ariel Pink’s tunes. Rita Ora even attended the event wearing a DKNY x Opening Ceremony Spring ’92 stars and stripes t-shirt.

ROOK Brand Clothing

If you’re a fan of skate and streetwear brands and have worn a graphic tee in the past six years, then they are likely to have been designed by childhood friends, designers and graphic art lovers, Jonathan Garcia (Jon for short) and Joe King.

For years, Jon and Joe have worked together on graphic tees and streetwear projects for top brands such as Stussy, Obey, Vans and many more. After working on various brands and graphic ventures, they finally decided to start their own brand, Rook clothing, with a clear mission statement… ’To create the highest quality, eye catching and provocative art and design, a brand defined by art’.

Rook Clothing aimed to bring the artists out from behind the scenes and make them known to people who would be sporting their designs. With Jon and Joe at the heart of Rook clothing, they built a team of top graphic artists in the industry and created a brand with the idea that quality art can and should be strong enough to create a brand’s identity.

Rook celebrates the talent and ambition of artists and also inspires aspiring artists and encourages them to ‘push the limits of design’.

Each individual Rook design, the art, detail and work that goes into each piece will blow you away. In a magazine interview, Rook described their art as a ‘detailed stream of conscious’, here at Richmond Classics we love their Dunce Monkey and Civil Unrest tees.

Not only do we love their t-shirts, we also stock them! As soon as the Rook T-shirts touched down in our store we pulled, shot and uploaded their amazing t-shirts on our website and also in store.

Buzzing for Beeline

When Pharrell Williams first came onto the scene in 1992 after writing a verse for Wreckx-n-Effect’s “Rump Shaker”, who would have thought he would go on to become a singer, rapper, music producer and fashion designer.

Mr Williams spent the early years of his career behind the scenes, however finally made himself known to all after he released his first single ‘Frontin’ in 2003. Pharrell hasn’t stopped since; he soon became the lead vocalist and drummer for hip-hop/rock band N.E.R.D (I’m sure we can all remember Alesha Dixon in their video).

Pharrell didn’t stop at music; in 2005 he joined forces with Nigo, Japanese music producer and clothing designer of ‘A Bathing Ape’ (BAPE), to create ‘Billionaire Boys Club’. Their collab combines both urban designs and quality products ranging from beanies to graphic hoodies, printed tees to snapbacks, all manufactured in Japan.

Under Billionaire Boys Club they launched Ice Cream, colourful and cartoon like, this brand compliments Billionaire Boys Club.

So surely a successful music career and two clothing lines under your belt is enough? Well not for Mr Williams! Pharrell collaborated with American designer, Mark McNairy to create Bee Line for Billionaire Boys Club. Bee Line combines streetwear and menswear to create a quirky and highly desired line.

Their collaboration includes clothing such as vests with the word ‘Billionairy’ which is a play on the words of Pharrell’s brand Billionaire Boys Club and Mark McNairy’s last name. Other items include varsity jackets, shirts, shorts and caps.
